Speaking and training
I speak and run training sessions for conferences, sector bodies, and membership groups across higher education and further education. My sessions are practical and grounded in real experience, whether I am talking about navigating regulatory data requirements or building AI literacy across a professional services team.
Topics I cover
AI literacy and capability
Making sense of AI for professional services staff, exploring the AI landscape, governance and ethics, and harnessing AI for efficiency in HE. These sessions are tool-agnostic and focused on building confidence rather than technical fluency.
Data, regulation, and reporting
HESA and statutory data returns, OfS compliance, business intelligence for regulatory purposes, internal metrics, league tables and rankings, and the National Student Survey. Practical guidance for the people who actually do the work.
Signature training framework

The ICE/BERG AI Literacy Framework
Developed from practical experience working with HE professional services teams, the ICE/BERG framework gives staff a structured, tool-agnostic way to think about using AI responsibly and effectively. It is built around two complementary parts: the ICE cycle for everyday AI interaction, and the BERG foundation for organisational governance.
ICE cycle
BERG foundation
The framework is designed to be introduced in a single session and embedded over time. It suits professional services teams, governance and quality teams, and anyone supporting AI adoption at an institutional level.
