Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 2026

Voluntary statement The statutory duty to publish an accessibility statement and conform to WCAG standards under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 applies to public sector bodies, not private companies. Sparkline Advisory Ltd is a private company and is not legally required to publish this statement. We do so voluntarily, in recognition of our commitment to inclusive practice and in acknowledgement that many of our clients in the higher and further education sectors expect their suppliers to demonstrate awareness of accessibility.

Introduction

Sparkline Advisory Ltd is committed to making our website as accessible as possible to all users, including people with disabilities or who use assistive technologies. We believe that everyone should be able to access our content and services without unnecessary barriers.

This statement describes our approach to web accessibility, the steps we take to improve accessibility, the known limitations of our site, and how to contact us if you need help or want to give feedback.

This website is built on WordPress and hosted by WP Engine. It serves as the primary online presence for Sparkline Advisory Ltd, including information about our services, training, resources, and downloadable content.

Our accessibility standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG 2.2 is the current version of the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

We have not conducted a formal third-party accessibility audit of this website. Our accessibility efforts are based on best-endeavours implementation of WCAG 2.2 AA principles, informed by automated checking tools and our own review. We are honest that full conformance has not been independently verified and that there may be areas where we fall short.

We are committed to improving accessibility over time and welcome feedback that helps us identify and address gaps.

What we do to support accessibility

FeatureHow we implement it
Keyboard navigationAll interactive elements, including menus, links, forms, and buttons, can be accessed and operated using a keyboard without requiring a mouse.
Alternative text for imagesImages include descriptive alt text to support users who rely on screen readers. Decorative images use empty alt attributes so they are skipped by assistive technologies.
Page structure and headingsPages use a logical heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) to aid navigation for screen reader users and to make content easier to scan.
Colour contrastWe aim to maintain sufficient contrast between text and background colours to meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements, supporting users with low vision or colour blindness.
Resizable textText can be resized using standard browser settings to up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
Plain languageWe write content in plain, accessible language and avoid unnecessary jargon where possible.
Responsive designThe website is designed to work across a range of screen sizes and devices, including mobile phones and tablets.
Link textWe aim to write descriptive link text that makes sense out of context, rather than using vague phrases such as ‘click here’.
Form labelsForms on the website, including newsletter signup and contact forms, use properly associated labels to support screen reader users.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas where our website may not fully meet accessibility standards. We are working to address these over time.

  • Third-party tools and embedded content – our website uses third-party services including CookieYes (cookie consent), MailerLite (newsletter signup form), and Google Analytics. These services are provided by third parties and their accessibility is outside our direct control. We have selected providers that take accessibility seriously, but we cannot guarantee full WCAG conformance in all third-party components.
  • PDF documents and downloadable resources – some documents available for download on this website were created using standard office software and may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. We are reviewing our approach to document creation and will improve this over time. If you need a document in an alternative format, please contact us.
  • Video and audio content – where video or audio content is published, we aim to provide captions or transcripts. This is an area we continue to develop as our content library grows.
  • Older content – content published before this accessibility statement may not fully meet current standards. We prioritise accessibility in all new content and review older content when it is updated.

If you encounter a specific accessibility barrier not listed here, please tell us. We take all feedback seriously and will investigate and respond promptly.

We do not currently conduct formal third-party audits. As the business grows we will keep this under review.
