  • Built a staff intranet at Futureworks using SharePoint, as well as building apps in Power Apps to support a variety of functions across the business
  • Wrote a TEF submission that moved Futureworks from a Bronze to a Silver award
  • Developed a Student Records System from scratch to capture all relevant operating and reporting data for students at Futureworks, added modules for Finance, Alumni, Enquiries, Admissions and HESA returns
  • Wrote the Data Strategy for Futureworks, and developed this work into an external presentation and articles

Employment History

Head of Registry Services & Business Intelligence, Futureworks, (2018 – Present)

Responsible for all data returns, statutory compliance projects, data protection and systems development for an independent HE provider. Responsible for all data related projects in the organisation including:

  • Working with external organisations such as the Office for Students, HESA, HEFCW, SLC and UCAS to provide data, or create data services for the organisation
  • Created data reporting functions to support the organisation using Power BI and SharePoint
  • Development and implementation of admissions, enquiries, tuition fees, alumni, and student records systems and processes
  • Compiled internal reports on a range of subjects including Access & Participation, student retention and performance against internal and external targets

Client and Programme Manager, Manchester Metropolitan University, (2017 – 2018)

Developed relationships with external clients (regionally, nationally, and internationally) to increase the number and value of productive relationships with businesses and public-sector organisations, in relation to degree apprenticeships. Designed and developed, with programme leaders and other academic colleagues, joined-up
fit-for-purpose apprenticeship programmes that met external degree apprenticeship standards.

Senior Data Management Officer, Manchester Metropolitan University, (2016 – 2017)

Worked on several projects to improve data quality, data management and business processes:

  • Developed curriculum management processes to help achieve CMA compliance
  • Led a project to develop a system for managing exceptional factors processes
  • Designed and led a series of staff development courses on Excel
  • Ran an audit of university-wide reporting requirements

Enrolment and Induction Manager, Manchester Metropolitan University, (2015)

Responsible for organising processes and events related to enrolment and induction across all Faculties at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Set up and managed the enrolment helpline, taking calls from students across the University and helping them with their enrolment issues. Monitored enrolment data and managed related issues.

Attendance Monitoring Officer (Technology), Manchester Metropolitan University, (2014 – 2016)

Primarily responsible for the operation of the University’s attendance monitoring system and working with the supplier to ensure its performance. This involved working with colleagues in the faculties on the processes involved, training staff on how to use the systems, and managing the data flows.
